Liver-Related Work

Our lab is interested in developing efficacious genetic and epigenetic therapies using the clustered regulatory interspaced palindromic repeats (CRISPR). We modulate immune system using CRISPR, or develop strategies to counteract immune reaction against CRISPR. Using horgan on chip platforms, we try to understand and modulate the biomarkers of toxicity and immunity following the use of gene editors in primary human tissues. In parrallel we use synthetic biology to devise controllable tools to modulate the behavior of human cells. The include safety switches for gene therapies.
